In the 80's!!!

Before I begin my very much fun post...You deserve to see this video:

Now.  I'm not much of a fan of the Eighties...they hair styles, clothing, everything, just seems really 'out there'. And even while I'm an outgoing (at times) person, I'm not THAT out going.

So. I was invited to an 80's themed party by a good friend of mine, Sarah. (sorry, she hasn't a blog, Tumblr or Pinterest I can link to). at first I was like, "oh, just get some Stone washed jeans, a colorful shirt, I'll be ready to go!" And I might have been able to skimp on that, had my Mother, dear Mama, not remembered so MUCH about that time period. Lovely.

See how I went? Oh, L-R: Joanna, Me, Sarah, Rachel, Bethany.

We went to Goodwill, bought as close to Stone washed as we could find pants, that shirt (which I LOVE), The Belt, and then, Mama teased my hair. Mama had a blast. Naturally, she didn't primp herself up AT ALL.  Each time Mama had me look at my hair and see if I liked it, I would do a dying moan noise. Honestly, I couldn't believe she was doing this to me.  I dearly hoped I wouldn't be the only one to be in dress.

Ok....so maybe I was the most 'out there' person attending...it was worth it as soon as Sarah saw my wild hair, and colorful outfit. "I LOVE IT!!!" said she. And, we all know, making a birthday girl (even if her brithday was a couple months ago, and her family just got around the the celabration) happy is the point of the day.

Earrings and hair sprayed hair. Boy, we emptied nearly our whole Hair Spray bottle on my hair.
If you dont look at ALL of my hair, it DOES look a little cute...
Me, and Joanna. Best girl ever.
Doesn't this look like a 80s year book picture?
 80s poof.
We did indeed have so much fun! We played a few games, but most of it was spent talking. And Sarah just gets more, and more awesome.

After cake and Pizza, they turned on a bubble and fog machine. I officially want a fog machine now. It was so cool. Everything had the 80's (cigarette) haze to it!
Another outfit thing, see my lovely belt? I really like the belt and shirt. They are SO comfy.
A disco ball! Added a fun touch.
They had various posters set up around the room, and this was one of them.
Another one. My favorite one. If I could meet any President, dead or Alive, I'd pick Reagan. He is just incredible.
Reagan also happens to be Joanna's hero as well. She needed this picture.

It was fun, getting out and dressing weird. I'm not the type to stand out and be the center. I don't like dressing funky, or taking fun chances. Getting out of my comfort zone is good for me, however.

Highlights:

Disco lights//Hair that doesn't move//Dr.Thunder//Red Velvet cupcakes//Phantom of the Opera songs//Giving Gifts//Super Amazing People//My favorite color blue//Pink Socks//Bubbles//Artificial Fog//Old Songs//Old Movies//Doing new things//Sarah//Joanna//Rachel//Bethany//Thank Goodness, Instagram//Star Trek Funny Stories//Riding in a Mustang//Domino's Pizza.

And, hey! This was nonschooler homeschooling! I did History today...first hand.

Ma Journee {Entry 4}

Well, today started out late.  I woke up, and the clock's read 10 AM.  Record people. I hardly EVER sleep in that late.  It's like, almost impossible.  After 7, I'm much to wide away to go back to sleep until at least 5 PM.

Well, the mail had already ran before I was truly up and about (I normally walk around like a zombie for five minuets after waking up).  And I got a lovely from the one and only Rachel from Dramatic Elegance:

It is from my all time favorite online store, Shabby Apple.
Really, they are a BEAUTIFUL shop.  Most of their items are modest, vintage, and totally chic.  You should SO check them out.  I've been wearing my necklace clock all day.
And  I got a compliment off of it today at the bank.  Don't you love it when that happens?

We ate Brunch (a mix between Breakfast and lunch), and started getting ready to go to town.

How many girls do you know, that dress and primp themselves up just to go to the library?  I look like I'm going on a date most of the time.

I'm a new driver, (New meaning, has only driven on a paved road two or three times), but I drove halfway to town today.  Without killing us all.  BIG achievement people!

First off, we stopped at the bank, as my brothers and I had to cash a check, we use two separate banks, so that was two stops.

Then, to Heaven (AKA, the library).

I really love that place.

My selections for the month?

Amarathine from Amarathine Forever suggested this book series, and I got the 1, 2 and 4. (I thought book 4 was book 3, so, it was a slight confusion.).  And, OH MY GOODNESS OH MY GOODNESS.  I already adore Artemis.  A 12 Year old super villain with Sherlock Holmes personality?  I'm only on page 34, but, Wow. Amazing.  And, I heard they plan on making a movie? Buy me a ticket, and reserve me a seat.
Oh, and Butler. What a sweet, gentle, gun toting, giant of a fellow.

I haven't started this yet.  I just saw how it said "James Bond and Harry Potter mixed together", and while I'm not a HP fan..exactly...I have been going through this James Bond faze.  Thanks to Mirriam and Finn McMissile.

I realized how few 'girl' books I read.  So, I decided to throw myself a curve ball, and see what happens.

Dunno much about this one, just thought it sounded neat.

I am an Agatha Christie tycoon, nearly.  I love her books, They are better then Arthur Conan Doyle's work.  There, I said it.  But, Sherlock Holmes is, and forever will be, my love.  I adore Holmesie with all my Fangirl heart.

And this.  I am actually reading a Star Wars EU.
Now now, no need to look like that.
Since reading reviews, I've learned that this probably isn't the best EU to start out with, and while I'd prefer to start out with Thrawn (I LOVE HIS EYES!!!), I can't help that they didn't have any there.

So, Thats that.

I need to get back to Artemis.  I think he is calling my name.

Bedazzle

Last year, I was really in a money pot hole.  Actually, it went further then that, for close to 3 years, I've been in the tight purse group.  I spent money on birthdays, and I went as tight as I could on that too.
This year, I wanted to be different.
So, I had two different prospects, jump in the Photographer's world with a splash, which I still plan on doing! But getting your name out locally when there are already two bigger photographers filling the need can take a while.
But, the second idea, was to branch out my love to create jewelry.
So, with a little bit of pushing from my Mom, I'm about to open Avalyn (Beautiful bird) designs!!!

*recorded applause*

I'm not yet ready for a grande (P'tack, you word check.  I say this IS the proper way to spell grand) opening, I thought I'd show you my favorites...

Kes.  I made these, and while holding them at arms length, thought, 'These remind me of Kes!"  Kes' personality is bright, cheerful, and very fun.   Do these earrings not reflect that style?
(I can imitate the way Kes talks...don't tell anyone! Shhh!)
Renaissance.  Inspired by Tudor style  The crackled red, and the ruby charms....Can you say, "Lady Jane Grey" with me?
Lady Emma.  At first, I planned to call these just plain Emma.  Don't ask how I came up with the name. It just popped up lie random inspiration always does. But after thinking, just 'Emma' wasn't elegant enough.  Add 'Lady' to something, and you add instant elegance!

So, these are just my favorites.  I have close to 15 Earrings, and two more necklaces.

I should open my Etsy shop before March, but it might (just might) open in the beginning of March.  I pinkie promise (and I take them seriously!) to let y'all know the minuet it opens!  AND< once the shop is open...I'd be interested in giveaways...just saying..

P.S Happy 200th birthday of Charles Dickens!! Has anybody looked at Google's homepage yet?

"Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried, than before--more sorry, more aware of my own ingratitude, more gentle".  - Great Expectations

I apologize for the lack of a post yesterday.  Truly, I didn't know what to post about.  Outside of getting our livingroom painted lovely coffee brown, having a massive headache that refusesed to respond to Ibuprofen,  and starting to potty train Titus, nothing really exciting happened.
You have my formal apology.
