Odd Thoughts

I think such odd thoughts.

Like, how do we know we can't breath in outerspace? Did someone try it? How do we really know? Maybe we are just told that. How do we know what stars are, or that the Earth moves around the sun. Has anybody touched a star, or been far enough away to watch the Earth circle our sun?
Maybe stars are pinpricks in heaven?
Who knows what's on the dark side of the moon? Maybe it's a lost civilization.

What does it feel like to die? Is it scary? Or peaceful? Do you realize you are dying before it even happens? Do you truly see your life flash before your eyes? Do you float away, or is like a bright flash? Do you get a holy trial or do you just wake up in Heaven or @#!*% ? Preferably heaven.
Is dying dark, or is it light?


What goes through an animals mind? Can they love? I know they can fear, or feel happy, but can they hate? Do dogs go to heaven? Who first decided to drink cow's milk? How did they come to that conclusion?

How did letters and words began? How did they decide A says ah?

Who kissed or hugged first? Was it awkward? Who was the first person to be married by a priest/preacher/pastor? Did Eve freak out when her stomach grew larger with Cain? How did they react to childbirth?

How did myths start? Were Greek gods based off of real (though not godly) people? Was there truly a curious woman named Pandora or a strong man named Hercules?

Did God make a chicken, or did God make an egg?

How did Noah and his family react to watching people drown in the flood? Did they get seasick? How did the Ark smell? Was it lonely, being the only people on earth?

Who named Colors, or discovered color blindness? What was Sir Isaac Newton doing under the tree? Who first looked up at space and said to himself, "I want to travel up there"?

I think a great many odd thoughts....

Salt and Sea

It might come as a shock to you, but even though my family lives in FL, we don't go to the beach much. We have gone a few times to collect shells, or watch a sunset, but we haven't gone swimming at the beach since I was a wee lass.   So, yesterday, we all packed up, and headed to St. George Island.

The little Kids had a blast,  swimming, burying each other, collecting shells, building castles.

And, for the first time ever, us Older three children went Sand Dollar diving.  It actually wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.  Feel with your feet for a Sand Dollar bed, and then dive down, grab the ones you like, or just grab a handful, resurface, and toss out the ones you don't like/need.  I even got to see a Flounder. I dove down, and nearly bragged him up, thinking he was a huge sand dollar. He was a little fish.

After we swam for a long time, we took a walk along the beach. I got most of my pictures then, since I was dry, and wasn't afraid of getting my camera wet.

A had a pair (HAD) of Red and Leopard print New York and Company Sunglasses. But, I was running alongside the waves, and they dropped out of my pocket. I didn't know until I stopped running, and by then, they were gone. washed away. a pair of expensive glasses. I CAN'T believe I was so stupid and ignorant. *picard face palm*

I got some rather good photography! I know a lot of people like to go to the beach to get a tan, to swim, to shell hunt, but as long as I get my buckets of pictures, and return with no sand in the lenses, I'm cool.
Which, the "I'm cool" part just reminded me of a quote...

"Welcome to cool ville, population, us".

That movie is heartbreaking, lovely, and timeless. It should be more popular.

If you never watched Iron Giant as a child, you are missing out, muchly.

Muchly isn't a word...*shrugs*. Now it is.

Movies I have seen recently, and my thoughts.

Giant. More then a western. More then a romance. More then an action.
It stars Jimmy Dean, Rock Hudson and THE Elizabeth Taylor.
A very
big moral I found in it was, Riches don't make you happy.
All the actors were wonderfull.
I LOVE this movie now.
It was so sad how Mexicans were treated.
You'll love it if you only watch it!

Never mind it was almost 3 hours long....

I liked it. If only Elizabeth Taylor was as moralistic as she was in movies.....

 Sorry they are so tiny, :-/.


Next is Temple Grandin!

Know someone who is Autistic?  Sibling, friend, ect?  This movie was amazing.  The actor did SO well of Ms. Grandin, she is amazing!
I have a few siblings who aren't Autistic, but still have learning problems. Thi shelped me see into their minds SO well.  I think if you are going to work with autistic children/people, you should watch this!
